Terms and refunds
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms cover the AI Triage add-on for Thunderbird and its license, made by Karel Jung. The license is sold by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller (merchant of record) and handles payment, tax and invoices under its own terms.
Free version and trial
The add-on is free to install. For the first 30 days every feature works. After that, the free features keep working without a time limit, and the pro features need a license.
The license
- A license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. You get a license key by email.
- It covers version 1 of AI Triage and every update of version 1, and the features it unlocks stay yours in later versions. A future major version may add new features that need a paid upgrade.
- The key is for your own use, on the number of computers stated at checkout. Deactivate it in Settings › License to move it to another computer.
- A refunded or misused key may be switched off.
Refunds
If AI Triage is not right for you, write to aitriage@karel-jung.com within 14 days of buying for a full refund, no questions asked. The refund is paid through Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method, and the license key stops working. This does not limit any rights you have under the law of your country.
Using the add-on
- The AI can be wrong. Tags, digests, summaries and reply drafts are suggestions. Check them before you rely on them, before you send a reply, and before you run tag rules. Tag rules can be undone from the add-on, but deleted emails follow Thunderbird's own trash settings.
- AI services are separate. If you use a cloud AI service, you use it under your own account and its terms, and you pay that service for what you use. Models on your own computer are provided by their own makers.
- Your mail, your responsibility. Keep backups of mail that matters to you. The add-on is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for lost or misplaced email, or for costs charged by AI services.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version is published here with a new date. The terms in force when you bought a license keep applying to that license.
