Problems, questions and ideas all go to one address. Every message is read by the developer.
Reporting a problem
These details make it much faster to find the cause:
- Your Thunderbird version (Help › About Thunderbird) and AI Triage version (Add-ons Manager).
- The AI service and model you use, for example Ollama with a local model, or OpenAI.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, with any error message.
Please leave out the content of private emails. If a problem only happens with one email, describe it instead (for example "a newsletter with only an image").
Suggesting a feature
Write what you would like to do and why. Ideas from people who use AI Triage every day decide what comes next.
Your license
- Lost your key? It is in the email from Lemon Squeezy. You can also find it under My Orders at Lemon Squeezy, with the email address you bought it with.
- New computer? In the add-on, open Settings › License › Deactivate on this computer on the old one, then paste the key on the new one.
- Refunds are possible within 14 days; see Terms and refunds.
Common questions
Settings says no AI service answers
For Ollama, check that it is running and that the address in Settings › AI Providers is right (usually http://localhost:11434), then press Test connection. For a cloud service, check the API key and that your account has credit.
Where is the button for an open email?
At first, Thunderbird puts AI Message Tools in the More (···) menu of the message header. Use More › Customize… to drag it next to Archive and Delete.
Filters, spam controls and the AI column are greyed out
They need the Thunderbird bridge, which Thunderbird allows with one setting: open Settings › General › Config Editor…, search for extensions.experiments.enabled, set it to true and restart Thunderbird.
How do I make tagging more accurate?
Describe each tag clearly in Settings › Thunderbird Tags: when the AI should use it, and when never. A larger model helps too, especially for smaller languages. The Tour button at the top of Settings shows where everything is.
